Our community residences provide individual and group living arrangements focused on the development of skills to ensure a safe and satisfying living environment. The homes and apartments are located within the greater Langhorne community and offer accessibility to all community resources. Each home that has between 4-8 individuals is licensed under the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and is managed under the direction of a residential manager with onsite staff available 24/7. Smaller homes and apartments are available with a range of a support and supervision as needed.
Life skills training focuses on developing skills such as money management, banking, shopping and use of public transportation. The brain injury-trained staff are all part of a transdisciplinary team and support the NeuroFunctional Evaluation and Rehabilitation Service Plan for each individual. Homes are usually co-ed and provide private rooms with shared bathrooms. Meal planning and preparation with the input from the residents offers a choice of menu and the opportunity to assist with preparation.
Recreational activities both in the home and within the community are designed to meet the preferences and interests of each individual. Health and Wellness provides nursing oversight for medication and medical management. If possible, residents are trained on how to utilize public transportation, or if not, transportation is provided. Most individuals served participate in a full array of day treatment including NeuroRehab Therapies, Brain Injury Clubhouse, InSPIRE, Transitional/Extended Employment and Competitive Supported Work in the community.
