Our Philosophy

Two Beechwood clients play Words with Friends on iPads.

The philosophy of Beechwood NeuroRehab is to provide comprehensive rehabilitation to adults with acquired brain injury incorporating innovative treatment concepts along with the application of technology and research. Beechwood NeuroRehab employs a person-centered, transdisciplinary approach emphasizing development of compensatory strategies to maximize the individual’s ability to participate in meaningful roles within a community setting.

We use innovative treatment concepts, applied technology and evidenced-based research to help each individual live a fulfilling life. We recognize and respect the needs, desires and rights of the individuals we serve, their families, and funding representatives, as we strive to fulfill their expectations for high quality brain injury rehabilitation and life-long living programs.

  • To ensure stable community living arrangements.  This means establishing a durable and sustainable living arrangement in the least restrictive setting possible in the community, based on the person’s skills, interests, and abilities.

  • To achieve meaningful productive activity patterns.  This means establishing an optimal daily living routine for the person, such as volunteer work, paid work, school, leisure activities, and social routines based on the assessed preferences and capacities of each individual.
