Our History and Future Endeavors

Beechwood NeuroRehab was established in 1979 as a program of Woods Services in response to the need to provide specialized services to those who sustained a brain injury. Beechwood NeuroRehab is regarded as one of the nation’s premier brain injury rehabilitation programs, and has maintained CARF accreditation since 1994. Although Beechwood’s history dates to 1979, our organizational history dates back to 1913, when Mollie Woods, a Philadelphia schoolteacher with great foresight and compassion, sought to establish a new type of educational and residential center, specifically to support children with exceptional needs.
