NeuroRehabilitation services are offered to persons 18 years and older who are medically stable and who need services and supports to maximize performance in everyday life or need supported living. Individuals served by Beechwood NeuroRehab, have acquired disabilities caused by either traumatic or non-traumatic injury to the brain which is the result of trauma, surgery, tumor, anoxia, stroke, or other neurological disorders.
In addition to a primary diagnosis of acquired brain injury or neurological disorder, often the persons served may demonstrate symptoms of emotional or behavioral disorders, and drug and alcohol-abuse disorders. For some, these conditions pre-existed and may have contributed to the brain injury; yet for others they evolved; post-injury in response to the brain injury.
In addition to the above criteria, outpatients must provide their own transportation to and from the facility. They must be able to safely administer their medications or they do not need medication during the hours of program services. For residential, vocational, structured day, and outpatient clients, the length of time in treatment is determined by the person’s individual needs and desires.
